Breitling - the famous luxury Swiss watchmaker - is the main Sponsor of the US Air Races National Championship better known as “Reno Air Races”, which take place every year in Reno, Nevada.
Breitling wanted to give a wider visibility on that major motorsport event, as well as offering a dynamic image of the brand for adults and young adults, the potential future purchasers of Breitling watches. Normandy Productions conceived and produced the Breitling Reno Air Races Project, a ‘Transmedia’ production financed by the brand. This includes:
1 – A top quality multiplayer free-to-play racing game for smartphones and digital tablets, for both Apple and Android markets.
2 – A short movie for the web (English with main foreign languages subtitles) : a three-minute action-packed film full of special effects, combining CGI with live actors. The movie supports the promotion of the game, and also addresses a mass-market audience, gamers and non-gamers alike, irrespective of whether they own new devices.
3 - A viral marketing campaign for the launch of the project, including many items from video teasing and video seeding, viral widget distribution, display ads and PR.
